When a door is fitted with a handle and the lock is not locked, it shall be possible to enter and exit freely by pressing the handle. In the case of grips, when the door is latched in, the entrance from the outside will only be possible with a key. In many cases this will not be a problem, e.g. when the passageway is leading through terrace doors. The advantage of this solution is that nobody enters the house even if the door is not locked. However, if you often use a service door during the day, it can be a bit tedious.

Electric strike with day/night function

The simplest solution to this problem is to use an electric strike with day/night function. The electric strike is a device mounted in the door frame, which blocks the deadbolt. By manually setting the electric strike latch to night position, you block the possibility of opening the door from the outside without the use of a key — i.e. the door works the same way as without the electric strike. If you set the day function, you can open the door by pulling the grip. If you lock the key lock, the door will remain locked regardless of the setting of the electric strike. If the need to remember about changing the door strike settings seems to be a problem, then it is worth considering the option of the grip with a button.

The button is mounted discreetly from the invisible side of the grip body. When it is pressed, the electric strike latch is automatically released and the door can be opened. If the door is locked, it is not possible to open the door at the push of a button.
The grip with a button is a very convenient solution, which is very popular among MARTOM customers.

The MARTOM offer includes also solutions for opening doors with a grip by means of a fingerprint reader, code keyboard, key pendants, magnetic cards and a smartphone. These solutions require the use of an automatic multipoint lock or a mechatronic cylinder lock.

MARTOM offers a wide range of cylinder locks in various classes of anti-burglary resistance and in different colours. The configurator makes it easier to choose the right cylinder lock class for the selected door standard. MARTOM recommends choosing an anti-burglary cylinder lock even if it does not result from the door class.
Most MARTOM door standards have two cylinder locks — for the main and upper lock. From the inside, one cylinder lock is adapted to the key and the other has a convenient knob. The set of two cylinder locks is equipped with 5 keys as standard. Each key fits to both cylinder locks — the so-called one key system — which is a practical and convenient solution. In the case of doors with one lock, e.g. Passive doors, three keys are added to a cylinder lock.

The Willa mechatronic cylinder lock is installed in place of the traditional cylinder. It does not require any wiring or other procedures, so it can be easily installed in existing doors at any time. The cylinder lock allows access to rooms without additional mechanical keys, and an additional advantage is a safe and comfortable management of the access authorization via a smartphone.

From the inside, the cylinder lock has a knob that opens and closes the door as is the case with a conventional cylinder lock. To open the door from the outside, one of the three options must be used:

1. User’s pendant — 3 pieces. After applying the pendant to the knob, the knob is coupled with cylinder lock. The door will be opened for a few seconds after turning the knob. The activity time can be set.

2. Magnetic card. Any number of magnetic cards can be programmed. Which, when applied to the knob, give the possibility to open the door. The cards are programmed in a very simple way, using the MASTER programming card. It is easy to send and cancel access for individual cards.

3. Smartphone.

The cylinder lock can also be unlocked with a smartphone using the EasyApp, by selecting the appropriate icon. EasyApp is a free iPhone app from Google Play and App Store that lets you control the cylinder lock and give other users free access to it. The app is designed for Android and iOS operating systems smartphones, equipped with Bluetooth interface.

Thanks to its IP67 resistance class, the cylinder lock can also be used outdoors. The cr2-3v battery power supply ensures that the mechatronic cylinder lock can be used for up to one year or 30,000 cycles. The need to change the battery is indicated by the pulsating backlight of the knob.

The WILKA mechatronic cylinder lock enables precise management of access to the building by e.g. sending temporary privileges to a person’s smartphone. It is an extremely convenient solution for many situations such as apartments and rooms for rent, guest houses, hotels, offices, cleaning companies, medical offices, etc. Also, in everyday use of doors to houses and flats this solution brings a number of conveniences.
